Revealed at LVMH Watch Week in Los Angeles, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph and Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon boast a striking black-to-purple gradient dial. A Legacy of Precision and Design
First introduced in 1963, the TAG Heuer Carrera has epitomized the chronograph wristwatch for over six decades. Designed by Jack Heuer, it was inspired by the legendary Carrera Panamericana race, focusing on precision and functionality. In 2023, TAG Heuer celebrated the Carrera’s 60th anniversary with the revival of its signature Glassbox design, enhancing legibility and sophistication.
Building on this legacy, the new Carrera models expand the Glassbox series, offering collectors an extraordinary interplay of color, light, and craftsmanship.
Purple Takes Center Stage
Following the success of the purple TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph in 2022, the brand brings this bold hue to the Carrera Glassbox series. The smoky gradient dial transitions seamlessly from deep black at the edges to a rich, vibrant purple at the center. A sunray-brushed finish enhances depth and dimension, while black azuré chronograph counters with silver accents ensure optimal legibility.
Rhodium-plated hour markers and hands, complemented by Super-LumiNova®, add a refined touch. The domed sapphire crystal amplifies the curved dial’s structure, making the timepiece a statement of elegance and innovation.
Craftsmanship and Movement
The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph features the in-house Heuer 02 (TH20-00) movement, celebrated for reliability and performance. Visible through an open caseback, this caliber delivers an impressive 80-hour power reserve. Its 39mm stainless steel case combines polished and brushed finishes for added texture and sophistication.
The Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon showcases TAG Heuer’s horological mastery. Limited to just 200 pieces, it houses the Heuer 02 (TH20-09) tourbillon movement with a 65-hour power reserve. The tourbillon is beautifully framed within the smoky purple dial, demonstrating precision and craftsmanship.
Sophisticated Details
Both models come with black perforated leather straps, featuring black stitching and a purple calfskin lining. These details enhance the luxurious feel while maintaining a contemporary look.
