From September 6th to 8th, 2024, Malans became a true paradise of culinary pleasure. Around 15,000 visitors journeyed to the Bündner Herrschaft to celebrate wine and conviviality at the Weinfest Malans 2024. The organizers are thrilled with the extremely positive results.
An atmospheric start on Friday evening
On Friday evening, the village square in Malans quickly filled with around 2,000 guests who enjoyed the mellow night under the starry sky. After the opening act, the cover band Pastis created a lively atmosphere. Then, around 10 p.m., an impressive laser show surprised the visitors. Meanwhile, at the long wine bar, Malans winemakers served their exclusive wines, complemented by a sparkling wine bar and various food stands.
A varied program attracted numerous guests
The varied program around the open wine presses and festival grounds drew many visitors. Andrea Frei, President of the Malans Wine Festival’s organizing committee, expressed her enthusiasm: “We can look back on a fantastic weekend. On Saturday, nearly 10,000 people came to the village, and while Sunday saw fewer visitors due to the rain, we still reached a total of around 15,000 guests, far exceeding our expectations!”
A unique wine festival pin and exclusive wines
The numbered wine festival pin proved to be a big hit, and on Sunday evening, organizers drew sixty pin numbers. The lucky winners received an exclusive wine festival wine—a unique cuvée of Pinot Noir from 17 Malans winemakers. In January 2023, these winemakers contributed 15 liters of their 2022 Pinot Noir to a single barrel. By spring 2024, the 225 liters were bottled, resulting in the limited-edition Pinot Noir 17, now available for purchase.
A successful transport concept and a smooth journey
Thanks to a well thought-out transport concept, many visitors travelled by public transport. The park-and-ride facility was well used and the shuttle bus was also very busy.
A look back at a successful weekend
The wine festival in Malans had barely ended when preparations for the grape harvest began. The winemakers will certainly look back on the successful weekend with joy as they work in the vineyard and cellar.
